Here for dinner and this is a 5 star place. Great food great service. Would come here again and again. All fresh prepared food.
Terrible Breakfast. The breakfast buffet is a joke, especially for $20. There were literally just four hot dishes: some potatoes, bacon, a greasy sausage and soggy eggs. That’s it. Save yourself $10 and the disappointment and just go somewhere else and order a traditional breakfast.
Finally a fresh meal. Breakfast was very good. Everything tasted fantastic. Nice atmosphere as well.
Fantastic food. Fresh ingredients. Love the idea of supporting local farmers who care about natural food. Great service. Very attentive. Will be back over and over.
Fantastic Food in a Hotel Looking Restaurant. The restaurant is located inside the Double Tree Hotel and looks like a plain hotel restaurant, but Markethouse is anything but plain. Make a reservation. The food is simply AMAZING. The BEST meal we all had in Chicago the entire week. Our server, Scott was fun and very helpful as well. The manager came by to check on things and gave us free desert because we could not get a table the night before (too busy). The mussels appetizer is a full pound of mussels that are meaty and melt in your mouth. The dressing on the salad was out of this world. Main courses were the best I’ve had in years and I’m from NY.Dessert was excellent.I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait for my next trip to Chicago so I can eat there!
Pleasant atmosphere, nice menu. We chose this for a pre-marathon dinner with two marathoners and two spectators. The regular menu was excellent and varied and portions were not absurdly huge, but just right. The risotto was lovely and light, not gluey, and the sweetness of corn without it overwhelming the other ingredients. To our surprise and delight they also had a marathon special — three all-you-can-eat pasta dishes which were a cut way above basic spaghetti. A good find, especially in an area that seems to be lacking in good meal options.
I want to add to add to my last entry. The food was very good. and creative, however, I felt the service was bad. I was alone (traveling on business on a Saturday night), I was sat immediately which was nice, but the wait staff never told me about the menu, or specials, and really were rushed although the restaurant was not full or especially busy and if I am going to pay $35 for a glass of wine & a serving of halibut, I want to be attended to.26 Sep, 2010Decent food but lacks service
