Wonderful meal. My husband and I shared a lovely pre-anniversary dinner here. The atmosphere is intimate, with our room having only 4 tables. Our server, Harmony, was very helpful and knowledgeable. My husband started with the soup special – a tomato, bean bread soup that was outstanding but a little too filling. My artichoke tart was fabulous. We then shared two courses – seafood ravioli with langoustine and the osso bucco, which were both amazing. No room for dessert, so I can’t speak to that.
Excellent atmosphere and food. A quaint location in a brownstone. Great service. Staff and food was excellent. A hidden gem.
I’ve eaten here a few times, most recently last night. It was very average. For the prices I would have expected much better quality food and service I had the tagliatelle, and it was extremely oily. Portions are quite small. $15 for a martini that didn’t have the blue cheese olives I requested. $14 for dessert. We had the panna cotta, which was delicious, but incredibly small. About 1/2 the size of the palm of your hand. There are much better Italian restaurants in Chicago. The atmosphere is nice.
Delight atmosphere. The gnoc…. Delightful atmosphere. The gnocchi and lasagna verde were delicious. Good wine selection.
Terrific Food & Atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed a very special evening at Merlo on Maple. We could’ve eaten any of the four specials, but opted for an even more appetizing item on the regular dinner menu. Great food, great wine, a terrific location and I hope that you have the same experience that we did.
Hidden Gem. We had a great curbside meal here the other night. Our party of 3 got a nice cozy table outside on the curb. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive waitress who offered great suggestions throughout the night. We had some great wine and cocktails. Our table began the meal with some aged Mozzarella cheese that was as if it were native to Italy. It was unbelievably good. I had a delicious Veal dish, another diner had the Lamb, and the lady at our table had the Tortellini. Everything was authentically Italian and wonderful!
Love this Place. This is one of my Chicago top three. I’ve tried desserts, salads, pastas, appetizers, and entrees here, and they were all fantastic. The prices are slightly higher, but it’s worth it.
