Passion Fruit Cupcake. More’s passion fruit merengue cupcake has ruined all other cupcakes for me…except for maybe their chocolate hazelnut brittle cake. I look forward to having one every time I’m in Chicago, which unfortunately isn’t as often as I’d like!
Dry cupcakes – Awful fillings – Can’t anyone make a good cupcake???. I looked forward to trying some cupcakes from More….what a mistake! We ordered a salted caramel, a lemon raspberry, a lemon and a red velvet so we could get a variety of tastes. All I can say is yuck! I don’t know what the filling in the caramel was supposed to be…but it certainly wasn’t caramel! It was awful. The others were just as bad. Dry and way too sweet. I’d never visit this place again.
It’s no ordinary cupcake. The flavors run the gamut from ordinary (red velvet) to rare (passion fruit) to ridiculous (bacon bacon bacon). Some of the cupcakes have a filling, but no worries: the fillings are amazing!The cupcakes were slightly dry, but the flavor more than makes up for that.
Do Not Use More for Catering. For anyone considering using More for catering a wedding, shower, or any other special event, DO NOT USE THEM! More cupcakes almost ruined a very special moment for a bride. More cupcakes screwed up everything! I scheduled a tasting. After I called to confirm the tasting I was told they would be busy and asked to reschedule. I rescheduled for the following day. When I got there, they had triple booked the appointment. My order was written down, which included some special requests. They did not want any money down or any contract. A week later I contacted More and they sent me a contract, which I agreed to. I thought everything was set. 3 Days before the event I called to confirm. They told me they thought I didnt want the order for WHATEVER reason, they LOST my order form, and were completely unapologetic. I had to last minute scramble and find another bakery.More cupcakes is very popular for catering right now. They book too many appointments to keep track of them all. Dont take the risk that your order is the one they lose!!!
Perfect Cupcakes. Need I say more?
Irresistable. So, I lived in Chicago for a month, discovered this place 2 weeks in, and went there 6 times…. Excessive maybe, but worth it. Their cupcakes are a perfect snack, I especially love the ones with the little crispy brittles on top of the smooth icing, something to change it up. I tried the Bacon Maple too, it may sound odd but it was like breakfast when your bacon mixes with your pancakes into one perfect bite. My favorite was the apple-walnut though (again, topped with walnut brittle). Fun to just stand there at the counter and pick, with all the cupcakes lined up in the display window.
I love absolutely love the Maple Bacon Cupcake!
