NoMI was our choice for our friend anniversary dinner as well as Sunday brunch. With seating at the expansive window, and being taken care of like family, it was perfect. Many thanks to Tom and Pat for an evening that was absolutely wonderful

Arrived at the airport with only 1.5 hours until my plane departed and there was a LONG line at the restaurant. I was told there was only a 15 minute wait (which I couldn’t see how that was possible), so I decided to wait 15 minutes and move along if my name wasn’t called. It was truly 15 minutes! Order the cheeseburger and chips…it’s AMAZING. Seriously, one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while.

NoMi Kitchen. Nomi is an elegant restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water tower and Michigan Avenue in the Park Hyatt. Whenever I hear about hotel restaurants, I get a little skeptical. Sometimes they are cold, sterile, and lack personality. Nomi is different. It is full of light, beautifully decorated, and formal without being stuffy. On a chilly Chicago afternoon, I met several friends for lunch at Nomi. I think everyone in Chicago is getting a little stir crazy these days. Sunlight is limited, and it is too cold to spend much time outside. Nomis large windows fill the space with bright sunlight. Its the perfect place to soak in the sunlight without actually going outside.Nomis lunch menu has a nice mix of soups, salads, and larger entrees. Nomi has partnered with Green City Market and a variety of other local purveyors to source its menus ingredients. There is a focus on letting each ingredient shine, and not over complicating things and the chefs excel at creating well composed dishes.Several of my friends ordered the Japanese Eggplant and Quinoa Salad with fresh mozzarella, avocado, and a cumin walnut vinaigrette. It looked absolutely delicious, but I was really hungry, and a salad just wasnt going to do it for me that day.I ordered the Handcut Tagliatelle with hen of the woods mushrooms, roasted fall squash, and a sage brown butter sauce. I ate every single bite. I loved the big tender chunks of hen of the wood mushrooms. The roasted squash contrasted nicely with the earthy flavor of the mushrooms. The rich brown butter sauce, flavored with sage, pulled everything together. My friends and I had a wonderful time. Nomi is exactly the perfect place for a leisurely lunch with friends. Its calm and quiet, and the food and service are remarkable. If you are looking for Valentines Day plans, Nomi is serving a special four course menu. In the warmer months, Nomi has one of the most beautiful patios in Chicago. It has an outdoor garden and is a perfect place for an after work cocktail.Nomi is located at 800 North Michigan Avenue, they do accept reservations. thekittchen.com

Good food horrible service. Definitely would never come here again which is unfortunate because the food was great. Had the tuna poke and it was amazing. We had a horrible table, right by the sushi bar with backless chairs and I was with my grandmother, she was so uncomfortable. Our waiter went MIA and we had to flag down another waiter to take our order. Our original waiter came back in time to take our dessert order which was extremely awkward. We asked the manager the name of the waiter who took care of us so we could leave him the tip, not the moron who left us high and dry for 3/4 of our dinner; he told us THEY POOL THE TIPS. Therefore explaining the lackadaisical approach from the staff. If you want the total dining experience do not go to NoMI for it.

Good, but could be Great. Nice place, great atmosphere, and food was awesome. However, service was a bit slower than I would have expected, both times I went there.
