A Saturday night dinner with a group of four. We were seated in the back room that had a barrel vault and chandelier lighting, which made for a cozy experience. Live piano music playing was pleasant and the Fumigato was superb. Would definitely order it again.
Staff & atmosphere were lovely; veal Marsala: sauce flavorful, meat on the tough side, very generous portions; side of fettuccine Alfredo was very, very creamy/soupy which I like, though my partner did not; the caprese salad tomatoes were mushy; not sure that I would give the restaurant a second try.
Absolutely lovely outdoor dining. This small Italian pasta, entre and pizza place was absolutely fantastic. Meals are $15-25, and incredibly delicious. I highly recommend the jalapeo gnocchi, obviously made there and crazy delicious! Excellent little place Ina big city
NOM NOM ZILLA. I only only only come here for its Clam with Linguine in White Wine sauce. You can ask for this lunch dish for dinner as well (it is not show on the dinner menu). Everything else is so so.
Great food but atmosphere was ruined my the loud-mouthed hostess. We ate here on a Tuesday night and sat near the door. Our sever was good but the ambient mood was ruined by the hostess yelling across the room at the bar tender and having a personal conversation. Sorry, but I don’t want to hear about the hostess’ brother getting held back in school or the bartenders 7th grade daughters upcoming school dances when I’m trying to have a romantic night out with my boyfriend. Would come back for the food only.
It’s like a dump. But with food!. We’ve snacked at Orso’s back patio during festivals in the area, and thought we’d try the restaurant. Thanks to rude service and a miserable environment, we’ll never set foot in their establishment again. If you’re looking for a nice, pleasant Italian meal, go elsewhere. Tables are on top of each other and jammed next to the kitchen and services entrances. Average age of the place was 60, probably people who had been putting up with their abuse for years and don’t know any better. We went in and they offered a table jammed up next to the bar next to the entry where people coming into the restaurant slammed into the table chairs. We passed, and sat at the bar waiting for another table. They gave us one, right next to the service entrance, and I do mean ‘next to’. 1 inch further back and it would have obstructed it. We asked for other tables but they were ‘taken’. If so, not during the hour we sat waiting for our tiny portion of expensive deep fried greasy calimari. At least we had a couple of pricey drinks with no alcohol- my date had a wine pour of about 3 shots worth, and I had a watered down ‘cocktail’ that was a fruit drink. After seeing the full-priced but bite-sized portions of other tables’ patrons that we were jammed against, we left. They didn’t care. This is a place to go to if you have no place else to go.
While not the most exciting food, everything that came out was perfectly cooked and quite delicious.
