We were given this restaurant as a recommendation by our concierge. It seems apparent he gets some kind of kickback, because he touted this restaurant as some of the best Italian in Chicago, and nothing could have been further from the truth. When we arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday evening, the entire restaurant was empty with the exception of two tables. The atmosphere was dark and uninviting. The room was essentially pitch black with a spotlight over each table. The service was dull. Our waiter paced back and forth as he passed us with his arms crossed behind his back like a teacher would while his students are taking an exam. The food lacked the passion and soulfulness one would expect when eating authentic Italian cuisine. All-in-all, this place was an overpriced disappointment. If we had not had tickets to a show that night, we would have gladly left to wait at another restaurant.
