Everyone said I had to go to Portillo’s for the hot dogs when I was in Chicago. It was within walking distance of our hotel, so that was a plus. I had no idea that it had so many different options, spread out around the perimeter like a food court. I can tell you that the hot dog was delicious and the perfect way to start our 2nd stop in Chicago.

There were no reviews on this sight for many years so we were a little nervous. However everything was wonderful the atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, the service attentive but not overbearing and the food great. All in all a wonderfully memorable evening.
Mistake. If you are looking for a restaurant that takes itself too seriously, does not understand how to pace a meal and has arrogant ownership and staff this is your place. My husband and I decided to spend our 5th anniversary at Prosecco while visiting Chicago. We waited 15 minutes for our table despite our reservation. Our server did not appear until 15 minutes after we were seated. The sommelier then came over and apologized, said he was supposed to come to us first etc. Clearly they were uncoordinated and did not know what they were doing. As someone who has experience with finer dining this was not comforting. The wine, pear and mozzarella app and grilled salad came quickly and were good. But then our server disappeared for another 30 minutes. We got no updates, no wine pours, nothing. I spoke to the maitre d and owner who were initially apologetic. Our steak and orecchiette pasta finally arrived, but by that time the lack of service and atmosphere had spoiled everything. In the middle of the meal, the owner came to our table and told me she was comping the meal because she was the owner and that is what she has to do, but that her server did nothing wrong. She would not listen any further. The server had completely misrepresented her actions, but the owner took her word over ours and threw it in our face. What a disappointment.
Nice find! Casual elegance and excellent Italian wine list!
Awesome and wonderful
Prosecco is divine. The first time I walked into Prosecco I was nervous that it would be too stuffy and full of itself, but it was quite the opposite. It has an elegant atmosphere but helpful and friendly servers. It’s the kind of resto where you can linger over a meal comfortably and not feel rushed. The truffle orichette is the best pasta dish I have ever had anyway. I love it. I crave it. I want it right now. Go and enjoy.
