It’s like stepping back in time to how we used to dine. Good was excellent! Great place to take customers. Very elegant and the food is delectable.
An old favorite I reaquainted myself with. Classic old school menu offerings from,another era, paired with people watching. Always a treat. Excellent service and ambience. Always crowded. A upscale Chicago favorite especially the social crowd.
Quiet, elegant and luxurious. The best service. Started with a lobster bisk that was on point. Then asked for a hamburguer in which the meat was excelent but it lacked salt.. the fries were the best, very unique..
After checking into our hotel we ran kicking and screaming here for a lunch. I must admit that every time I come to Chicago I find a reason to eat here. Whatever it may be. Lies, deception, just do it. The food is consistent and I like the preppy, dark, elegant atmosphere. This time we sat at the bar which I really enjoy. We were lucky to find two seats since it is always very crowded. Cocktails are potent and pleasureable on the throat hole.I had lobster bisque with a whole claw in the soup. Then proceeded to steak tartar which was decadent and delicious. My friend had the Crab Louise which contained huge amounts of fresh blue crab meat. We also went for Sunday brunch. I had traditional eggs Benedict that werent on the menu. My friend had the poached eggs with salmon. Bloody Marys are fabulous. You can actually taste the alcohol!The place gets crowded so reservations are a must.Servers are personable but not overbearing, and clearly covered in abs from head to toe. Who would think a restaurant adjacent to a clothing store could be so good? There is nothing fancy on the menu but if you want traditional, fresh food cooked to your specifications, and hot when called for, then you SHOULD try RL.
Special nite with my love!. Loved the meal and the service was tremendous! Room was noisy and crowded but the staff and food made us forget that quickly! My wife had the short ribs and I had the veal. Both meats were served to perfection ! The dinner was so ample that we didn’t have room for dessert. Sat next to a gentleman who comes in every week for the Sole and Cheesecake and it was easy to see why!
Just go! Soup and grilled cheese. Lobster sandwich.
