We stopped in for a quick meal but found it to be very nice restaurant. We were in the airport and didn’t expect much. Surprise! The food was good and the service was amazing. Our server took the time to figure out if we were in a hurry to catch a flight or not. We will make a point of going back when at Midway.

Great beer! Even better pricing, on Tuesdays flights are $4.00 you cant beat that in river north. If you need a quick lunch spot and dont want to spend an arm and and leg but want it to still be nice choose this place.

They have a rooftop patio that looked great. We sat inside where it was cool. They make their own beer onsite. Drafts during happy hour were just $3 I had RB Wings. They were okay … deep-fried and then covered in hot sauce

Go there for the roof top terrace bar. Pretty popular with large groups who tend to hog the seating areas but there is a rail around 2 sides. Food isn’t anything special, same for the beer. Had to get clean plates and flatware ones on the table were not clean. Wait staff are over worked when the place is busy and service suffers accordingly. Good location in River North with lots of other eateries close by.

Was visiting Chicago and staying in a hotel near this restaurant. Order our food to go and picked up a growler as well. Food was good! And the perfect food to watch for the cubs game 6!!

Neatly tucked in the corner of Grand and State, this brewery has some nice inhouse brewed beers. Pocket friendly, usually crowded on weekends. The rooftop is pretty cool if you dont want to wait too long to be seated. Service tad on the slow side but would visit again nonetheless.

Ok, so tonight I am bitterly disappointed. I came to Rick Bottom this evening as a return customer after having been here a couple of years ago. On that trip I was very happy with the beer, service and the food. Regrettably today is a different story. For those that read my reviews Rock Bottom is ‘right up my alley’ – it’s a brew pub, which makes it a favourite type of hangout when I travel. The ambiance is typical of most of its brethren – wood and exposed brick, open concept, big bar. Kind of loud but not intrusive. I like it.First of all, I waited 20 minutes to get seated tonight at a table for 1. I can understand that can happen in a busy night, even if it’s a Monday. But here’s the trick – I was seated in a half full section around people that were already eating (and thus was not just opened). It meant I was seated 5 minutes after the end of happy hour (which meant my bar tab was double what it would have been). Now that could be coincidence but it certainly left an impression. The server was very pleasant, but clearly overwhelmed. The place was understaffed tonight and they were doing their best picking up for each other. I was served by no less than 4 people over the span of 40 minutes. That’s not on the staff, it’s on management. The beer is excellent, as I remembered. The food was disappointing. I ordered a special from their menu (jambalaya). It was quick and hot from the kitchen (plus). The rice in the jambalaya was undercooked to the point of crunchy (minus). Unfortunately the servers were so harried my choice was sick it up or wait 20 minutes to send it back. I sucked it up.Wrap it all up, and you get a less than stellar visit. To be fair, my last visit was a Saturday night when they were ready for the crowd. The lesson here? Come for the beer but choose your visit time carefully as ‘off times’ apparently leave management with the impression they can skimp on staffing. Too bad. Last visit would get a 4.5; this time, not so much.PS – Full disclosure- just got my bill, and to the credit of the manager on duty he didn’t charge me for my second beer; he clearly recognized that his staff is overstretched tonight. Thus my score goes from a 3 to a 3.5; still doesn’t excuse the kitchen issues. Kudos for the effort though.
