After a short wait we were seated at a quiet table and had a good lunch. Large portions so we shared. Nice Tuscan salad and very good fish and chips. Good service. Nice place to get out of the busy pedestrian flows and relax.
Came here for a family brunch. The traditional eggs Benedict here were amongst the best I have ever had and the value was great. They give complimentary tea cake which was excellent but my son only allowed me one of the four pieces, devouring the rest. Great experience.
Overall the food was slightly above average. I tried their lunch menu recently and thought it was just okay. Service was also lacking. Had a great table outside for some good people watching. For some reason they seem to be better overall at night.
My husband and I intended to go for dinner at Giordano’s, but discovered there was a very long wait. We noticed this restaurant across the street; the Rosebud. There was an intimate little patio setting where people really seemed to be enjoying themselves and we found ourselves drawn to it. Lucky for us they had one table for two left on the patio. It was sealed like a tent against the chilly night air with heat lamps hanging from above which made it quite comfortable. It was quite the intimate and romantic setting. For those who are as curious as I was: Yes – it is named after Citizen Kane. To start they brought out some salads for us which were almost too pretty to eat with long shoestring carrots curling on the top. The vinaigrette dressing was delicious and although we knew we should save room for the entrees we couldn’t stop. For the main course I tried the linguine, shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. The linguine was done very simply with garlic and olive oil, but was so flavorful. My husband tried the spaghetti with what turned out to be enormous meatballs! He thought it tasted terrific. By the end of the meal we were so thankful that Giordano’s was full or we would not have had the pleasure of experiencing this place. Next time we’re in Chicago we would like to come back.Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a lovely alfresco lunch at this restaurant when I was last in Chicago. Cannot get over how big the portions are and loved the very friendly waiters. The location is perfect for people watching as its on a very busy corner. Read my full review on my blog NoFixedAbodeForSue.com nofixedabodeforsue.com
A Chicago and Italian staple of mine. The portions are HUGE. I’m a sucker for their lasagna but their homemade meatballs are incredible as well. Skip dessert as it’s just alright. lincolnparkminute.com
