We were at the bar and had a variety of apps while we were there, including the sliders. All the food was great so I’m not sure you could go wrong. Excellent cocktails and a fantastic bourbon and scotch selection. Stop in and say hi to Pito!
The Chicken and Waffles were cold, so I had to send back. Next Chicken and Waffles were good, but did not compare to the best. Cheese curds were good but overpriced. The Old Fashioned was great and decent price.
Excellent!!!!. Hugh supply and selection of bourbon and whiskey. Must go if you like cocktails as well. mixologists are well trained and friendly.
Fabulous Place. Awesome atmosphere. Heather, the exec chef, is very friendly and totally interested in her customers having a great experience there as well as great food! Food was fantastic! Favs were the deviled eggs, the chicken waffles, the seared scallops, and the corn creme brulee. Let me say you will want the corn creme brulee all to yourself!! Do not pass up eating at Sable on your trip to Chicago!!
The food was not spectacular. We had a seat overlooking the kitchen. There appeared to be no head chef. They never tasted any of the food they put out. The food runner did the final seasoning including adding the truffle oil to the dishes. All dishes had too much truffle oil which implies they are trying to make up for other favors. I had the chicken and waffles; the bourbon syrup was overpowering. I also had the duck juniper sausage; the sausage was very dry. Finally, I had the deviled eggs, which was good but all I tasted was truffle oil no egg. I was disappointed to say the least considering they had good reviews.
Great place to go as long as you’re not starving. Plates are very small but full of flavor. We had tuna tartar, deviled eggs, scallops, and the mushroom pizza. All we’re delicious. Drinks are well made and service was very attentive. Love the darkness and ambiance of the place. Would recommend to others.
Food was good. Maybe wont come back to it again but would highly recommend it to others. Shrimp and grits- oriental flavour. Wish they put less sauce. Foisgras BLT- niceWarm spaghetti squash salad- vague. No need to order. Red lentil cake- quite good. Dollop of sour cream on top was a nice diversion. South Indian vegetable curry with rice- very nice. i found no sweet potato though the menu claimed there were. Dessert- bread pudding and sticky toffee pudding , 2 British classics, very excellent. May be ‘too sweet’ for some, but perfect for me. Whiskey ice cream was heavenly.
