Service was great, not perfect. Food was 50/50, meaning that some of the 10 courses had a variety of different flavors that played well together, others were just dull, e.g. The main course which was quack. This was a fun experience but I had higher expectations for a 2 star Michelin restaurant.
If you visit Sixteen, you should prepare yourself for an amazing food journey!!! as soon as you walk in the main room two walls of wine welcome you and a great view of Chicago skyline is in the background. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the staff was so king to reserve a window seating for us, it was simply perfect and magical. The tasting menu allows you to choose some of your courses, by the end of the dinner we had a total of 12 plates. Everything was extremely well cooked and the perfect combination of flavors and cooking techniques. As you would expect from a 2-star Michelin restaurant, it is pricey but it is totally worth it!!
Best tasting menu I’ve had. Every course was perfect. Must do the wine pairing also. Service was fabulous.
One of the best resurants I’ve been to.
Superb food, Stunning Views. We had ordered the tasting menu with wiine pairings. The room is lofty, affording sweeping views of downtown. The service was attentive, responsive, and intelligent. Although the meal was pricy, the setting and pace were ideal for a thoroughly enjoyable client dinner. I want to return in the summer when dinner is served on the outdoor deck . . .
Amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the eight-course chef-selected menu with wine-pairings. The service was beautiful (chairs and napkins attended to throughout our experience, sommalier, waiter, and several staff presented each course simultaneously). Seven or eight flavors decorated each plate, each carefully selected for its properties. Every course was exceptional. At the end of the meal the waiter presented us with a menu of all the food and wine we enjoyed that evening with the date and chef’s name, in a Trump envelope. Very memorable!
A Beautiful Location. Food is great. Tables have lots of space — easy to handle a conversation. I’ve had exceptional service (better than at the Penninsula). And the view is my favorite. You can see the clock tower on the Tribune building and the river with bridges. It’s just beautiful.
