Had a really good time here. Prices were steep for Mexican food and alcohol, but the fact that they are right in the middle of skyscrapers has to make the rent hard to cover. Atmosphere was old school Mexican with all booths which I liked. Our server was so outgoing and helpful with menu choices. Had many nice tequilas and margaritas which made my bill high, but I would have spent the same for less at any other restaurant in the Neighborhood. The food was actually really good which I was worried would not be the case so far from the border. The salsa was on the hot side and I like hot so it was ok for me, but I could see others complaining. The chips were stale and thick, and was my only complaint. The carne Asada was excellent and they even had handmade tortillas. Rice and beans were both better than average. My chili relleno surprised me as their was a carnitas stew mix in it rather than the standard just cheese. Overall a good meal, with great food & drinks and a server that was quick and personal. Recommended.
Very nice atmosphere the bartender helped me choose good food the atmosphere very lowkey simple nothing fancy food tasted mediocore but the service was very good
Very good ambience. Smallish place but very well done. …….. I am not a big fan of mexican cuisine so didn’t quite enjoy the food.
Excellent Chips & Salsa to start out some pretty good Mexican food. Salsa was a bit on the spicy side which was alright by me! Definitely worth the trip!
They have weathered 52 years,my wife and I have been coming when we are downtown for 20.Heartily recommended.
Had I read the negative reviews and saw the rating before we sat down I probably would not have dined there. But other than the greasy chips the food was very good. My daughter loved the Pollo Pablano. The burrito appetizer was very good. Good prices for the Mag Mile area. Go for lunch.
Not the best Mexican around and small portions. Go to Cantina Laredo down the street.
