We went here on Saturday night based on the reviews on Check Please a foodie show on WTTW, Chicago’s main PBS channel. Called ahead to make a reservation and was told they told squeeze us in. On arrival there were numerous tables, go figure. Great venue, liked the restaurant layout, and the bar area. That said food was average at best and in our view wasn’t good value for money. Wine ordered wasn’t chilled either on arrival. There were lots of wait staff but service wasn’t good. It is restaurant week in Chicago. The fixed menu at $44 per head is a standard charge for participating restaurants, our advise go elsewhere.
I had the grilled octopus with crispy pork belly and have never tasted anything so good before. The octopus was cooked to perfection and the pork belly was so tender that it slid off my fork. The atmosphere is upscale and professional. Fun fact, One Direction stayed here for their show in Chicago. That’s not why I ate here…maybe.
