Just a great overall experience. We recommend sitting at the sushi bar to marvel at how they make the various types of sushi and sashimi….truly an art form. Unless you know specifically what you want just tell the chef to make you a meal and then sit back and enjoy the meal. Great service on top of that. Would we go back? Most definitely.
We arrived in the afternoon for lunch and the place was packed. Line went quick and we ordered a Chicago dog, chili dog and fries. Food ok good. Nothing amazing but good. The downfall was the bathroom. Very very dirty. You have to have clean bathrooms. This reflects the entire place.
If you’re looking for affordable sushi in river north I’d suggest this place. They have amazing sampler plate options. We were a party of four and ordered 2 tuna cups(super small but filled with flavor), barbeque grill sampler(beef tongue is delicious), black sushi sampler, river north roll, and one other roll. We were absolutely stuffed. The ingredients are fresh & our waiter was amazing. He was incredibly attentive and gave awesome recommendations. I’d suggest asking if you could sit downstairs though. We had an upstairs table and the space is a little cramped & dark. Definitely going to return.
My boyfriend took me here for the first time last weekend and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was very upbeat and hip. The hostess was kind enough to take our jackets and escort us to our table promptly. The menu was full of different options and it was hard to resist trying everything! We ended up trying the Sashimi plate and about 5 different types of sushi. It was all absolutely delicious! The waiter was very nice, informative, and attentive. Last but not least, the prices were definitely worth it. I hope to be returning back to Union sooner rather than later!
