West Egg Cafe is my go-to spot for breakfast when in Chicago. We stayed at a smaller boutique hotel right around the corner this summer. With all of the options within walking distance, my fiancee and I chose to ignore all others and have breakfast here each morning. The menu has a variety that is more than suited for anyone. This includes people with various food allergies, preferences,or intolerances. Each morning we were there, the restaurant was quite busy and bustling. However, we were able to walk in and sit at the counter straight away each and every time, which gave it a bit more of an old-school diner feel (which I enjoyed.) The staff were more than attentive and just all around enjoyable. When you include the quality of the food, menu selection, staff, and overall atmosphere, you just cant beat West Egg.
Visiting Chicago for the weekend and stopped by West Egg for a Saturday breakfast. It was consistently busy (for good reason) but they quickly seated people as they came in, even with a rush. Food came out fresh and fast and was delicious! Service was wonderful (Annie was our server and she was lovely). Very impressed and would definitely visit again.

Seated right away Friday at 8.30. Food and service was fast. Good value for the money…coffee is extra though. Albuqurque Eggs Benny for me, turkey sandwich for my coworker. I loved my breakfast, potatoes were not deep fried for once! Real turkey and lota of avocado. Large portions too. Service was a bit rushed, but will come again.
Every time we come to Chicago and stay downtown we eat here at least once. Excellent breakfast place with a bit of everything. If you come during brunch expect a wait.
Breakfast was amazing with an unbelievable selection! Atmosphere and waitress made this an extremely pleasant experience. Highly recommend!
Good place for breakfast . Omelettes are their speciality .Nice clean and quick service . Charging $3 for a normal coffee was over the top I felt otherwise a decent place for a Hearty Breakfast.
