So leaving Chicago on Tuesday this week, I was intrigued to find the restaurant had changed to Go Go White Sox. Since we had a few hours before boarding, we got a table and headed in. Of the 6 appetizers on the menu, they only had 2, teriyaki wings and lettuce wraps. Wings were good and the wraps were only ok. Ordered a pub burger and was very dry. The fries were soggy with extra grease. Very disappointed!!
Gotta love Rick Bayless and his restaurants. If you’ve ever been to Tortas Frontera, Xoco is basically like a more upscale version of it, and with enhanced flavors. The dining area is relatively small, but we were fortunate enough to get our order in and get seated right away.
I went to Xoco recently for a lunch date. It seemed like the perfect place to go for a place in between casual and traditional restaurant. It ended up being a perfect lunch spot. The menu is not broken out by meals so you can get anything, any time of day (breakfast for example.) They have tacos, pastries, salads, a variety of tortas, and more. I would have loved to order one of the tortas since they looked amazing, but I wanted something lighter so I went with the beef tacos. They came with toppings and the beef was so fresh, it was delicious. I also ordered guacamole it comes in 2 varieties I ordered the fully dressed version which has a lot of toppings and it was also delicious. This place is also very reasonably priced, especially for lunch and dinner, and has very friendly staff. Would highly recommend for a lunch spot for any occasion.
Incredible little pizza put near the shoreline. Their thin outside pizza was incredible. I was likewise awed by their blueberry frosted tea. We ate in, however they likewise have takeout. Anticipating our following visit.
Xoco is a very vibrant mexican place. Delicious food and great ambience. We ordered the famous Baja Chicken sandwich and it was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Great place to hangout with friends.
Amazing Mexican sandwiches, fresh, flavorful and a smokey flavor. Outside and inside or carry out. Beer available including Mexican and craft.
After Friday nights craziness I was hunting for a michelada on Saturday morning.Found two Mexican places nearby and I picked this one.Walked in and was greeted with a menu, it’s like an order and pay first and they pick a seat for you kinda place, or to go.I didn’t know what to pick, everything looked amazing!I made sure they had a michelada, which they did.BUT unfortunately it was made with tomato juice instead of Clamato. Still drank it cause I felt death near lolI ended up ordering the torta ahogada which hit the spot. You can order the sauce mild-hot. I picked medium and it was the perfect spicy.I sat right next to the servers pick up window so I could see everything people ordered and oh man everything smelled and looked great. I wanted to order one of the soups but decided not to until I actually got my sandwich.Served in a pool of tomato spicy soup, the sand which is placed in the middle… vertically. I believe it was $11Oh ya I also tried a churro with Oaxacan chocolate. Sooooooooooo delicious! Needless to say, I devoured it….. yumService: good, the people are very friendlyAmbiance: chillVenue: coolPrices: very reasonable Food: authentic and delicious
