The best place ever to get a Chicago dog!! So delish! And for how busy there were at lunch time they give us our order pretty quick!! Love that they have one now in Woodbury, Mn and starting one in Maple Grove, Mn close to us!!
The only thing I don’t like about this place is that it’s not open all day! They say their French Toast is award winning, and it is unquestionably the best I’ve ever had. The peach butter mine was served with basically changed my life. The veggie burger is truly one of a kind, so flavorful and fresh, and whatever style you choose, they’re all great! The Southwest is probably my favorite. Their veggies are also very fresh, so you know the salads are good. I’m particularly enamored of the lemon tahini dressing that comes on the Garden salad. Definitely put this low-key vegetarian spot on your must-visit list. strandedinchicago.com
Went here with my vegetarian friend and only had to wait about 5-10 minutes on a fairly busy weekend day. The woman who seated us was very kind and appreciative of us waiting. We enjoyed some DELICIOUS out of this world amazzzzing French toast. Its like my new favorite to be able to order it as a half order with eggs is amazing! Will be back for some other veg-o friendly times, warm staff, cute neighborhood atmosphere and delicious food! northandred.com
Good eatin’ …organic food or whole food and healthy choices. Dined late June 2014Victory’s Banner…Go. You will eat healthy foods, organic foods, and whole foods full of flavor. I was in the area for 5 days and ate here 3 times and got food to go. Yes, I am a fan. I wish it was here in DC area. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for food, service, and prices. The staff is kind and attentive. The restaurant is smallish but they accommodated my party of 10 no problem. Victory Banner always has plenty of patrons seated inside and outside, each of the 3 times I visited I was seated quickly. The foods I order and ate:Lemon lentil soup – divine, aromatic, delicious. So good I go it to go on another visit.Pancakes with yogurt and fresh raspberry – perfect pancakes–light, tasty…good, hearty breakfast.Omelet: I made my own with spinach and mushrooms. Good omelet. Fabulous breakfast potatoes! Hearty bread served as side was good, it also came with the lentil soup. What I tasted and looooved:Breakfast Burrito: A tortilla stuffed with 2 scrambled eggs, mushroom, red onion, red peppers, gouda, black beans and sour cream. Organic salsa & brown rice on the side.I needed more days in Chicago because on my next visit I was going to order my very own Breakfast Burrito. I had tasted it on one occasion, then shared about 1/3 of one on another visit. They are big and delicious…not salty, you can taste the individual ingredients.Chow!food chick~~:~~Eat, drink, be merry and validate for parking (TM)
This place is great. I’m allergic to wheat corn and eggyolk. First time I had a safe, delicious breakfast in years. Get the eggless wonder #2! but with plain tofu instead of marinated. 7-8-09 ok, went back recently and now they are cooking the potatoes in corn oil- boo.
Gross. This place never seemed overly exciting, but we tried it one afternoon. We’re definitely meat-eaters, but were open (well, I was more open, my fiance was fighting a bit). I had a burger of some sort and it was not very edible, but I tried to choke it down. I forgot what my fiance got, but he still talks about how nasty it was and is afraid of everything meatless now. This may be a nice restaurant for vegetarians, but for meat-eaters, be forewarned, it tastes nothing like it’s supposed to.
Sunny, bright place. Next time, would like to try the Satisfaction Promise, french toast, or uppama
