Perfect Post-Bulgogi Indulgence. Outdoor Cafe is one of my favorite destinations on a heavily-Korean stretch of West Bryn Mawr Avenue. Any steamy summer night is improved instantly by one of their fantastic patbingsu desserts. I love me some Asian food of all stripes and flavors, but for something sweet I’m gonna put my lot in with the French and the Viennese–beans and agar agar just aren’t my thing. But, all thing considered, the patbingsu is pretty tasty and sometimes you need something to cool you down after a hearty Korean dinner down the street. If you’re in the mood for a Western-style treat, Outdoor Cafe serves pastries from JR Dessert Bakery, the stalwart West Rogers Park kitchen that serves up the best cheesecake around.
