Ottimo is a tough one to score – it has a nice ambiance and in the summer they have an outdoor area, although this is more for those that want to smoke. Its typically a busy place for Italian food, which on its own screams success, however I find this place is more of a hit and miss. Over the years we have been there for dinner with others who invited us, and along the way we give it another chance. After I eat here I feel like I need a bottle of Tums, its very greasy food. It also seems like the chef pairs food specials on what is available versus what starches and proteins go together. Finally this place is not cheap, so if you go there based on price you have high expectations. I wish I could say something better, but there are better options for Italian food nearby.
There are not a lot of great restaurants in the SW suburbs but this is very very good. Service is attentive, the food arrives hot. The food was good, but not great. The wine list is a little high.
Mixed luck here, sometimes good.
Great Waiter. WOW what an experience its hard to find good Italian in the south suburbs. The bruschetta is unique in its abundance of mozzarella, basil infused oil, and the roasted Campari tomatoes. Delish. The scallops were done to perfection. Top that off will a very carmelly crusted Crme Brule delightful. Our server Zach was professional very good looking and attentive. Otiimo will be added to my YUM list
Just another place. I had heard good reviews and finally stopped for dinner. The restaurant was full and I was hoping that was a good sign. Not so much. The menu was very uninspiring, the specials not much better. The talapia was boring and the plate looked a mess. My wife’s squash ravioli was bland. The salad was the high point (mixed greens with pine nuts, apples and gorgonzola cheese and a balsamic dressing). If you are in a hurry to eat, this the place to go. No sooner did my salad fork hit the table and my dinner was in front of me. I barely finished the last bite of my dinner and the table was cleared (including my paper place mat). I felt like an Indy pit crew came through. Won’t be back any time soon.
Excellent. So excited to have this restaurant in the SW suburbs where I feel restaurant options are severely lacking. We tried it on a whim and it was so delicious, we will definitely be back. The atmosphere and food made us feel like we were in the city. We had the baked clams, roasted beets w/goat cheese and risotto with scallops. My glass of wine was also enormous. Highly recommend!
Ottimo. Food and service were both great. It was a little loud inside, but the patio was great.
