Worst dining experience in my life!. Food is pretty good here, and I grew up in Italy. However the owner is a different story. We have been coming here at least a couple of times per month and have a full meal, appetizer, entree, bottle of wine, desert, coffee, digestivo. However tonight after my parents drive up from St Louis, we go there hoping to have a relaxing dinner. After our first round of wine and soup/salad we receive our main entree. My wife orders a Veal Chop Bone In ($40) and has an issue with it and tells the waiter that she wants to return it. Short while later the owner comes out and tells us that the meat is fine, there is no issue with it, that it will stay on the bill, and that we are wrong. Right/wrong, what happened to the customer is usually right? We order bottles of wine on which he makes more money that $40. What’s wrong with this owner? Needless to say we are not returning. Too bad we had gotten to know the wait staff and they are quite good.
My favorite Italian restaurant !!!! Love the Carpacio appetizer, best bread w olive oil & cheese. I have honestly tried almost everything on the menu and LOVE everything. My cousins and I meet here weekly!! My favorite is the Riesling wine or dirty Martinis too. The owners & staff are fabulous and we always feel at home there. Not to mention the decor is gorgeous and when they decorate for holidays it looks beautiful. The outside patio area I perfect for nicer evenings too!!! Again you must try Agios if you haven’t!!!
This is my favorite restrauant in palatine.it is always delicious.i frequent the place with my husband, sisters and friends. All the pasta dishes are delicious especially the linguini with vongole. Great for private parties as well and brunches. Service is always on.
Great food. Great service. Our server was very attentive. Drinks brought quickly. Ask for Angie.
Horrible service. I unfortunately will never be able to write a review of the overpriced food here, as I left in disgust at the slow service before it even arrived. I stopped at this place on a Saturday night after seeing it while driving by. I was admittedly underdressed, and was told there was a 15 min wait for a table, so I waited at the bar. After a half hour, with several empty tables available for over ten minutes and no other customers waiting, I had to go talk to the matradee before I could be seated, right next to the kitchen. I didn’t mind this so much, as I said I was underdressed, but making me wait for the less desirable table to open up afforded me the opportunity and vantage point to fully enjoy their horrid service. I was able to watch in the next 40 minutes, the time it took for my appetizer to arrive, two entire parties order, get, and finish their food. At this point, I complained to my server about the time it had taken for me to receive the simple bread appetizer I had ordered, and if this was any indication of how long I would have to wait for my meal. After disappearing into the kitchen, the server returned saying that the manager was willing to wave the price of the appetizer. Now, I don’t run a restaurant, but I would think that if I did, I would make a point of apologizing for bad service to my customers in person, but sadly, I never saw the manager, or even received an apology, before walking out after wasting over an hour of my time. I can only imagine that the food must be worth the steep prices they charge, but since I don’t return to places that I have walked out of, I’ll never know.
Very ‘hip’ decor, NYC style seating, would not recommend for kids, but delicious food.
