  I have been there several times over the last 5 years and every time I go, I find the quality of food deteriorating. The last 2 times I did carry out. The bhindi masala they gave me was bad and I had to go back and return it after I started eating at 9 pm. They promptly returned the money however I couldn’t relish my food and got busy calling them and driving back. I thought it may be one off scenario (Dec 2015). However, that was not the last. The last time I ordered carryout was when I had party at home and ordered a half-tray karahi gosht which is definitely not cheap ($66). What they gave me was leftover and all the mutton pieces were severely over cooked and cushy cushy and not solid pieces. I could barely differentiate between the mutton pieces and gravy, it was so mixed together. Since it was leftover food, bad smell started coming when I started packing up after the party. How could a fresh item go bad so quickly!!! Even the guests may have realized that it was bad, that they barely ate anything from the tray. My whole tray was a waste. This is the last time I am ordering food from Laquila and would request others to verify the food specifically if they are doing a carryout. (Mar 2016).

  DISGUSTING. Worst place ever… Expensive and they are typical DESI’s, with no customer service, and they rip you off on the quantity. Never going again. We got take out for Iftar and when we got home the quantity of the food was not even enough for a single person. When I called the owner, he argued with me and told me to bring the food back.

  Best South Asian Food in Midwest. Lal Qila is the place my family and I take all our guests and co-workers if they’re interested in South Asian (Indian/Pakistani/Bengali) food. Sunday brunch (buffet) is the best! Other meals are to order off the menu. Never had to wait in line (spacious, plus reservable party room we’ve used for anniversaries and birthdays). Decor is both cultural and simple (not like most desi places full of clutter and no taste). Excellent service staff. Consistly great quality. Have never met anyone who didn’t love this place after one meal. Should be pricier than what they charge, but I’m not complaining 🙂

  Lovely Experiential Dining. This restaurant was much more then expected. Their ambiance is light with traditional Pakistani decor, but without the heavy red overtones and loud music. The staff was impeccable. They had just the right amount of suggestion without being overbearing, and the perfect level of conversation and attention to detail. Our waiter should be a trainer for the wait staff of all Chicago restaurants.The food was delicious, and was the same price as that in most Indian restaurants. I found the Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan to be exceptional, and I’ve had it many times and make it at home, so I usually am a good judge.You can find gift certificates on Restaurants.com for this restaurant for Mon-Thurs, which is what got us in the door, but we will make this are regular Indian restaurant.
