Very good. I've been there over 15 times now. Each time has been good. You can't beat the all-you-can-eat prices. When you get full, just order 1 more…

Good sushi and pretty good all-you-can-eat deal as well. People are hyper-critical for pretty poor reasons. Yes, it is often crowded but that is because they have good food at a good price. The policy that they charge for uneaten food is posted everywhere so it really is your own fault if you miss it….how can you be upset about that? Go eat at old country buffet whiners…then u can waste all the food you want. Is it the very top of the line sushi? No but you also are not paying for that either.
GOOD overall. This place is getting a lot of bad reviews for stupid reasons. They charge leftover for only the all-u-can-eat to prevent people from not ordering carryout and trying to scam them on profits. It’s the only way to allow the buffet without running their buisness into the ground. The waitresses are always nice to me, I guess if you expected to be treated like a queen or king then its not the place for u. But service is not horrible like everyone is claiming. They have the best sushi deal out there, I guess that’s why they get a lot of cheap customers who don’t want to pay for leftovers, if u can’t follow the rules then don’t order off the buffet, order off the regular menu instead! I recommend this place if you love sushi!!
Sushi Para has a good all you can eat lunch. The quallity of fish has always been good. They serve tons so it has always been fresh. The variety for the all you can eat is decent … Don’t expect anything favcy tho. Good salads, gyoza is excellent, miso soup is just soso. Wait staff is efficent but I never found them overly friendly. Btw … Temptation will make you want to order tons BUT remember what you don’t eat you pay extra for. Start with a plan … You can always order more as you want it.
I agree with the last review! This place stinks! I love sushi and was very disapointed. There’s too much rice on the rolls and I think being charged for the leftovers on your plate even if they’re crumbs is Ridiculous!!!!! There’s many other local sushi restaurants in palatine that are far better. This place stinks!!!
Awful Service. Sushi Para’s main draw is its all you can eat menu, available for lunch (more limited options) or dinner, at a cost of about $18.95. It sounds like a good deal, especially in Chicago where sushi joints sometimes charge upwards of $15 for their specialty rolls each! The general menu is typical fare, and the all-you-can-eat dinner menu pretty extensive with a number of staple appetizers like miso soup, gyoza, tempura, and tofu. Their selection of sushi on rice is good, the salmon being the most reliable; tuna, shrimp, red snapper, and others tend not to be from the best parts of the fish and leave something to be desired. Sushi Para excels in its selection of rolls, with 10+ specialty options (ranging from California and Boston to shrimp tempura and spicy options) along with less fancy ones, like cucumber and tuna. If you go all you can eat, put in your order form with everything you plan to consume because service here stinks. Even when the waitresses outnumber the number of occupied tables, they are glacially slow to come around and do even the basics, like refill glasses, bring extra place settings (they set for two at a table of four as practice), and take new orders or clear dishes away. Otherwise they tend to stand at the back and daydream or occasionally chat to one another, ignoring frustrated customers trying to get their attention. This is a regular occurrence whenever I go to this restaurant, and it’s not a recent affair. The other thing to really watch for are the rolls themselves. Sushi Para’s chefs stuff their rolls full of rice, which means they are BIG. 5 pieces at your typical restaurant won’t fill you up near as much as these half-dollar rolls will, and don’t get excited about how much fish is in there. It’s no more than other places like Mirai, but it’s surrounded in heaps of lettuce, tiny cucumber spears, and yet more rice. An 8 piece roll is really enormous, equivalent to 2-3 rolls elsewhere (or half a bowl of rice, take your pick). Worse, they -do- charge for uneaten pieces. If you’ve misjudged how hungry your party is, be careful, because you might end up with another $10 on your tab you didn’t expect because you couldn’t force yourself to chew through the last two pieces of a shrimp tempura roll. They are absolutely anal about this, and the waitresses don’t even bother arguing, they just shrug.
Best buffet for sushi. Just awesome.
