Excellent tea and even better service!
Tea-lightful!. My husband and I have passed by the shop many late evenings, after hours, and were curious about it. So, we finally stopped in last Saturday while we were out running errands. I am so glad we did! I had a delicious cup of Jasmine tea–Mmmmm—smells as good as it tastes! My husband, who is NOT a tea drinker, tried the coconut tea, and has been back twice more in the last week for it!!We were treated very warmly, and the proprietors answered all our questions, and even gave us a mini lesson on tea leaves that was very interesting!!I plan on bringing my friend to TeaLula for a cup of birthday tea after dinner. Hmmmm–maybe a gift certificate, too!
Charming and Knowledgeable. What a delight to walk into a specialty retailer which is not only welcoming, but a delightful educational experience. The owners and staff at this tea shop know everything about their 100 teas, allow you to taste as many as needed to find your perfect drink and then make you feel like an old friend. It is small and I have now been in there many times when there is no room at their tea tasting bar, but no matter–take your tea to go because they will make your to-go cup with all the care of a pot at the bar. Highly recommended for the tea lover!!
TeaLula Tea Shop. My name is Sheila Duda and I am the owner of TeaLula in Park Ridge. I wish to thank Nancy for taking the time to write about my shop. I was pleased to read that she thinks our loose leaf teas are excellent and that we have a wonderful atmosphere. Our store offers nearly 130 varieties of loose leaf tea, tea accessories and gifts. We offer complimentary samples of our tea at our six-seat tasting bar, plus customers may enjoy a pot of tea in our window seats. Although we have only 10 seats, we do offer a pot of tea and a scone for customers to relax and enjoy in the shop or tea to go. Nearly all of our customers who sit for a cup of tea spend an average of 30 minutes in the store. For our business to grow, it is imperative that we have room at the tasting bar to welcome new customers. However, some costumers sat sipping their pot of tea for two to three hours every day at our six-seat tasting bar. So we decided that it was best to politely let them know that we needed them to shorten their stay in order to welcome new tea lovers. We thought that, as friendly regulars, they would like to help support our growth. Tea Lula. The selection and knowledge of loose leaf tea at this shop is excellent, however, if you are looking for a tea shop where you are able to sit and savor your pot of tea while visiting with your friends or bringing a good book this is not the place. The owners have decided that certain people are to be told to limit their time at the bar in the shop although there is no signage to this effect and other customers are welcome to do so. They need to decide whether this is a tea shop where people are welcome to mingle awhile and enjoy their pots of tea or whether they are a tea store where customers sample their tea, purchase and move on. If you are looking to become a regular due to the wonderful atmosphere, think again.
