Hands down best sushi in town. A must when in the mood for Japanese food
Hands down best Sushi experience in Rockford.. The Tappen presentation is great for the kids and the Tappen food is great at Shogun, but the Sushi bar is really where it’s at in this place. They have a fantastic rewards program, and Jung is an absolute culinary artist.
Great food… Show a little repetitive.
We ordered the Beef Steak Roll and BBQ Ribs expecting them to come as appetizers. Instead, they came after we had started eating the entrees. Finally, halfway through the meal the waitress checked in to see if we were enjoying the meal. At this time, I told her the appetizers had an unusual taste and we found them to be unpleasant. She took them away saying she would inform the chef. At the end of the meal we received our bill and were surprised to discover they had charged us for the Beef Steak Roll and BBQ Ribs. Our waitress dropped off the bill and did not return. We waited 15 minutes before walking up to the hostess to pay. We explained to her our issue and were informed we would be charged for the appetizers because we had eaten part of them. How are we supposed to know how they taste without eating them?! I will NEVER eat there again.
Great chef great sushi tried Rockford roll,dynamite roll and rainbow roll. Favorite has to be the Rockford roll. The soup is freaking awesome
Loved this place before discovering I had a gluten intolerance. On last check, they couldn’t accommodate my needs. Sadly I won’ be back until they can 🙁
