Great food & service, I’d rate the OT in the top 5 restaurants in Rockford.
Great beer selection and food. We stopped in for lunch and had the french onion soup and split a bison Gorgonzola burger. It was delicious. We had a Bell’s beer and a Sierra Nevada beer and both were fantastic. The onions in the soup could have been cooked a bit more, but the broth, cheese, bread and broiling were perfect!! We will definitely be back
Used to be good. I used to enjoy The Olymic. For the last several years they have been resting on thier laurels, knowing that they are popular. So away went to cusomer service, the quality of food, and pleaseant atmosphere. I now avoid the O like the plaque.
Can do without. Overpriced food, below average quality food, nice atmosphere, ok service = not in a hurry to get back.
Interesting. Warning….you could get lost here! 🙂 It’s a huge place with a huge beer selection. It’s really unique and I would love to come back in the summer to check out what appears to be a really cool outdoor patio. The beer was FANTASTIC and our server was excellent. We went here on a Saturday for lunch so I’m not sure how that would compare for busy weekend nights. We all got the special which was a Cuban sandwich. Really good and neither the sandwich nor the fries were greasy AT ALL. Sandwich definitely had some substance to it and was pretty good. Not the best Cuban I’ve had but good enough.Menu was as big as the place was with a ton of different options. If you have a large party they definitely could accommodate you and the many different tastes there may be. It had everything; Steaks, burgers, seafood, pizza, sandwiches, pasta…. you name it!
Great place. Love the Olympic.Yeah, it has carpeting from the 80s and animal heads on the walls… it also has really good food and a beer list that puts ANY other establishment in Rockford to shame. Expensive? Maybe, but you get quality to match. Substance over attempted style is hard to come by in Rockford, so I’ll keep going to the Olympic… the rest can head on over to Stone Eagle Tavern and see how that goes for ya.
