85 degree weather in Chicago is much desired after a long cold winter. Even more so, are the paletta’s of La Monarca. I stumbled across this Ice Cream Shop rushing down Clark street trying to not be late for class, until I saw the flavors on the window: mango, coconut, guava…needless to say I was late for class.Real fruit chunks palettas, soft serve ice cream, italian ice..are just a few of the treats at La Monarca. The best part about this place is that not only do they offer a grandoise variety of flavors in ice cream, they offer snacks nothing less of great. Thirsty? Try an ice cold homemade rice water (orchatta). If you’re looking for friendly faces..that do remember your name when you go back, great flavor, look no further then La Monarca.
