I guess you can count my visits here as 2 since it was my 1st & last time I will go.I oredered Chicken on the Bone. $14 for what was a leg the size of a rock cornish hen – no more than 1oz of total meat – no side whatsoever – not even a roll.A veggie or mashed potatoes would have been $6 more. A well drink was $11. A Total rip off place with no parking except meters or side streeg in a very dangerous area.Best advice = PASS ON THIS! Weird menu – I think they think it is ok to overcharge ny doing so.
I have been to many gastro pubs in my travels and rate them on their combination of energy, atmosphere, originality, and ability to master both the food and drink. The Peckish Pig rates right up at the top! Walked in as a trio of strangers and were welcomed like old friends who had been going there forever. The service was more than excellent, it was absolutely sincere, friendly, and genuine. The food choices were absolutely original as well, and the combination of unlikely ingredients produced a sweet, and savory mix that pulled all of the natural goodness out of each dish. The bartender was spot on and their selection of local draft beers was delightful and satisfying.Definite deserving of a review, and not just a rating. And definitely worth a return vist whenever I am in town.
Very good – fresh, tasty entrees and good craft beer. Seafood tacos, though a bit overly spicy, were flavorful & imaginative. The lyonnaise salad was especially good with salmon. Beers range from decent to good, with the tripel Belgian probably our favorite of the 6 we sampled. Don’t miss: the deep-fried butties for dessert. We had Nutella & strawberry, and it was good enough to come back for on its own. Excellent service.
Been here several times for dinner and brunch since moving from Logan Sq to Rogers Park a couple months ago. Food has been consistently excellent. I’ve never had the same thing twice, and I’ve eaten every bite. House beers are fresh and tasty, with a nice list of guest drafts, too. Solid, friendly service every time. Highly recommended.
The food and service were both amazing! We had the mussels, hog wings, and fries with truffle mayo. My only issue was there was way too much vermouth in my second vodka martini – even when I sent it back saying it didn’t taste right. But I didn’t go to test out the bar tending skills. I will definitely go back… Maybe order beer next time.
