We were going to a show at Lifeline Theater and wanted someplace close by to eat. Our niece suggested tapas, which I had never experienced. Our superb waiter was extremely helpful and suggested two items per individual. Everything here was amazing, and somehow, despite the diversity of the selections, all were very complementary. Among our choices: lobster ravioli, black bean cakes, grilled shrimp, fish tacos, bacon wrapped dates, baked goat cheese, pork medallions, and crab cakes, and my brother-in-law had an excellent beer. We were all stuffed with these delights, but with flavors this excellent, could not pass on deserts. Tiramisu, plum crumble, chocolate mousse cake, and nutella empanadas, and we were all fighting the urge to lick the plates once again. The atmosphere was very nice, the windows were open (not freezing in air conditioning being a plus), the seating comfortable, the prices reasonable, and did I mention the food is fabulous? Our niece has been to three tapas restaurants in the city, and in her opinion, this is the best. Do your taste buds a favor.
Great spot in Uptown Chi for good tapas and sangria. Perfect for a date! Very Mozambique-ish decor with colorful walls, candlelight and spaced out tables. Quirky slogans found outside usually :)There’s usually a wait on weekday evenings but there’s a nice dive bar right around the corner.
