Best Place Ever!!. I love Gus’s Diner! The food is great and so is the atmosphere. The servers are always friendly and Gus is the bomb! I have asked for things that aren’t on the menu, and they are always happy to accomodate their customers. They have a great TV behind the counter and they play DVD’s of old TV shows….Johnny Carson nevers goes out of style!! Laughing customers, friendly people! Always a good time!!

GREAT. Gus’ Diner is the greatest restaurant in Palatine for breakfast and lunch. They have the best desserts – all home cooked and they actually care. Gus himself is sooo kind and will help you with anything himself. It is a retro diner – very well done. Their waitresses are all smiley – obviously a great work environment. Great food – good prices! I’ve been there 8 times this month with anyone who called me hungry 🙂
Not too good. Diners are usually known more for their great food, not so much with this place. The food is just like hospital food. The 50’s diner theme is cool, but they can definatley try harder – it is screaming for memorabilia! But again this diner needs to get some good old fashioned 50’s diner recipes to serve, menu is really wierd and hard to order from, you have to ASK for a ‘normal’ cheeseburger! Chicken salad sandwhich and soup were awful. Paying your bill by the door was uncomfortable, hard to sign at the goofy desk and the plastic tables and chairs need to go! Also, the booths are super high so you can only listen to the bad dvds they play. Hey – why not play 50s tunes?
