Last weekend we visited Chicago on a girls weekend and everyone said we had to eat at Portillos and so we did. It’s a very casual place and very loud. We waited in the long line and although it seemed busy and hectic, we soon realized they have the whole thing down pat. Once at the front of the line, we asked the server to suggest what we should order, we wanted a sample of what Chicago had to offer. We shared a couple of different dogs, french fries with cheese sauce, chopped salad, onion rings and a chocolate cake shake. Then you go and pick up your order from a couple of different counters and seat yourself. We’re not generally big fans of hot dogs, but they were pretty good. Our favorites were the onion rings and the shake. Seriously, they blend an entire piece of chocolate cake to make the milkshake. Glad we shared.
