So many better Hibachi places. To summarize my review up front, in my 3 year old’s tearful words at the end of the food prep, ‘When fire?!’ I have been going to Hibachi places as far back as I can remember into my childhood, but never a Benihana. I have been to so many so much better places all over the country all independent or just local chains with a couple of locations. First off, I will stay away from price, value, and charging for substitutions in this review and stick to the food. Soup ok, bland, but I get it they are watching the salt for me. Salad, ginger dressing again bland they must be watching the salt and fat for me on this one. Actually, the dipping sauces were the same way thin and virtually flavorless. Catch a theme yet! Fried rice, ditto for the lack of flavor. Steak good. Shrimp good but I like to dip it in the white sauce which was not even worth the effort. Wife’s scallops OK but nothing special or exciting, and scallops are her favorite food. Quote, ‘I saw that he was frying them dry, but I did not think they would taste that way too.’ Veggies done before everything else is even started and ice cold by the time you have something you want to eat them with… just onions and zucchini? One bright spot… the Green Tea was nice. BTW back to the real issue for the kids… No fire, either a flash in the beginning or from the volcano. No juggling of eggs, knives, or anything for that matter. No Sake showers for the adults(or water for kids), no broccoli toss, no peeing boy or streamer soy sauce gags, really nothing fun… Cannot resist… I am not happy that I paid $100+ for a Hibachi dinner with no show and mediocre food for a family of four.

Nice Restaurant. Great Japanese restaurant. The wait is minimal and the service is the best. My favorite part is sitting at the table, and the preparation of the food in front of you. Nice place to bring a family and young children.
