Quaint little cafe and bakery in downtown Skokie. 3-4 tables to sit and drink coffee and enjoy some sweets. Serving Intelligentsia coffee. Grabbed some scones and a dark roast for the road. Try this place instead of the chain coffee and donut places. I’ll be back.
Wow. This place makes me feel like I am visiting my grandmother, very homey, cute, quiet cafe with Intelligentsia coffee!!! You must try the cinnamon rolls, the quiche, the cupcakes (especially the black bottom!), and their pies. You can truly taste the quality in the products they use and I am always willing to pay a premium price for a premium product, which they consistently deliver.
Sweety Pies is a true mom and pop shop that offers some of the best and unique homemade handmade pies, pastries, cinnamon rolls, and cookies. I haven’t found a single item i don’t like. Great intelligentsia coffee, made 2 order omelettes and sandwiches, quiche, it’s all amazing. If you are a foodie you will love this place, i haven’t found anything comparable.
Way overpriced. $4.50 for a piece of chocolate pie that couldn’t have been over three ounces. Owner commented that the pie was very dense. Walking out the door, I realized that for paying what I received, I was the only dense one. They will never recapture me.
This place is never open. Coffee was good the one time I went by and they were actually open. Pies were just okay. Hope when they open new place they have earlier hours and more to offer. Good concept but poorly managed.
