One of the nicest restaurants in Springfield. The management is very helpful, and professional. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the specials. We joined the wine club on the recommendation of one of your managers, a Mr Kelso Ballantyne . We have recommend Coopers to our friends.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Would suggest making reservations because they are often busy. Prices are more expensive but is meant to be a nicer/higher end place (which I would personally like more of in Springfield). I have returned multiple times and have always had my expectations met. I have ordered many different things and all were very good!
Coopers Hawk. A place for the wealthy who have extravagant kitchens in their overpriced homes but couldn’t pour milk into a bowl of cereal is what makes this restaurant fantastic! They don’t know how to cook and the wealthy don’t know what good taste like, plus they have wine…so that puts you in a further translucent dull mind frame. Not worth it.
Cold mediocre food with sub-par service. Food was served after waiting 50 minutes from the time we ordered. I don’t mind waiting, but when the food came out it was clear that the food had been sitting for quite some time. The bread on the sandwiches was hard, the pastas were dry on top, the fries were stale, and the fish and steaks were lukewarm. Pretty obvious that the food was sitting under a warmer. Very disappointing for a place that charges high-end prices. The manager was very polite when one person in the party requested a fresher sandwich; however, 8 out of the 9 people In the party were served food that was sitting in a heater. I live in Springfield and probably will not return.
We were very pleasantly surprised. I recently had dinner here with my fianc and her sister. We weren’t sure what to expect. We had looked at the menu prior to making our reservations and it was so expansive that we wondered if they could provide such a variety of dishes and still do them well. Our initial impression is that they have a system that works. Since they have their own winery, they serve all their own wines and again we were surprised by the quality; their Sauvignon Blanc was clean and smooth, but with a really nice, bright flavor. The Zinfandel was equally good. There is a small shop in the entry way/waiting area where you can purchase wine and other items. There is a good sized bar and a large dining room with plenty of seating, serviced by a small army of servers who keep everything moving in smart fashion. We tried the chicken potstickers and they were a great take on the classic Chinese version. The Asian pork belly tostadas were delicious–tender, nonfatty pork with a sweet, spicy glaze. The Red Wine braised short ribs were very tender and perfectly seasoned. I had the Angel Hair Neapolitano which was a great pasta, chicken dish with lots of very fresh, bright, tomato flavor. The personal sized apple crumb pie, the chocolate cake and the signature truffles all made for very decadent deserts. We really felt very well taken care of by our server and we loved all the food. We’d definitely go back.
Had supper on a busy Friday night. Took a seat in the unreserved bar area. got menus and drinks fairly quick. Then the fun began-no bread ever and a 90 min wait for lukewarm food. Normally docile wife went on a rampage with waitress and manager. Someone (s) definitely dropped the ball. Food was good not great. Clientele was good( few obese and dudes with ball caps on) Great place to mix. Will be back someday when my wife settles own
Hard to rate. I had the soup and wedge salad which was very good. Then why did I state I wouldn’t go back? 1st off way over priced! Ouch, too many other good places in Springfield that are better and much more inexpensive. The main reason I won’t go back is the whole time we were there we were being sold to buy more from them. For example, we sit down and tell them we are kind of in a hurry for lunch. He then goes on for what felt like 5 minutes telling us what the ladies like to buy in their gift shop etc. And about the restaurant it’s history.Even during the meal, he came back multiple times asking us to be in the wine of the month club , even giving us all brochures to look at and then telling us he would be back again to answer questions about the club. We came to eat and catch up with each other, not to be sold during the whole meal. Why is it so crowded? I guess everyone wants to try it, but I sure hope springfieldians are smart enough to just say no to this type of service ( harassment).
