Increasingly inconsistent. We’ve been regular take-out customers for the last few years. We usually get the same dishes (1 vegetarian, 1 carnivore). Hunan’s definitely has its quirks. About 1 in 10 times they will mess up the order or forget to put something important in the bag (like rice). Generally, we’re pretty tolerant of these sorts of mistakes, however, in the last few months the quality of the food has definitely started going downhill. Much more grease, vegetables and meats overcooked, etc. Next time we will be trying somewhere else.

The presentation isn’t quite as good as some of the more upscale restaurants in town, but the price can’t be beat.Also, if you order the sushi buffet, you get the chinese buffet included! (a double edged sword with the left over sushi charge.)The Chinese is good – typical American Chinese fare. I especially like the Crab Rangoon; it’s the version made with cream cheese. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The inside is bright and spacious. One of my regular dining choices.

Go for the sushi buffet!. This place is good only for the sushi buffet–but that’s all you really need. All-you-can-eat sushi buffet for about 12 (lunch)-16 (dinner) bucks? That’s crazy. The sushi is always fresh, made to order (so you know the seafood hasn’t been sitting out for hours), and the presentation is equally stellar. My favourite roll is the Dragon Roll. Absolutely amazing!Be warned though, for every piece of sushi that you leave (each roll has about 5-8 pieces, sometimes 10 for dinner rolls) you must pay $1. For this reason, I think sushi buffets where you self-select by the piece are better, but hey, this place is amazing by Springfield standards, and either way, if you order at least 3 rolls, you’re already getting more than your money’s worth!Going to the sushi buffet at Hunan is a tradition for my friends and I for whenever we are all back in town. To prepare, we fast for the entire day and then order virtually everything we can think of, gorge ourselves for about 2 hours, then spend the next 2 hours sitting there unable to move while we complain about how full we are and fight off our food comas. With our frequent feasts there, I’m surprised they’re still in business.

Unreal. I love this place so much that I almost declined to write a review for fear that it will become too crowded for me to eat there. The sushi is fabulous and ALL YOU CAN EAT *gasp* and the owners are incredibly nice. Two thumbs up.
