Amazingly good. From.chicago for a conference in Springfield. My coworkers and I searched for a thai place in the area. Found this place, saw the reviews, and decided to try it. Its a hole in the wall place and doesn’t look like much, but the food is superb. I had the red curry with coconut milk and it was better than most thai food I’ve had in Chicago. Our waitress was super friendly, too.
First Time at Magic Kitchen. Today was my first time here, I am here from out of town and saw the reviews so figured I’d check it out. I ordered the asparagus with rice and chicken, the food was good but I can’t say the same for the service. I don’t think I would return. They need to get more than one waitress. If you like good food and crappy service then def check it out.
Delish!! I can’t eat spicy foods but went because my husband has been wanting to go for a long time. We both enjoyed it although he wanted his meal to be spicier. :).
Best Thai I’ve ever had. This is one of the places I miss most after moving away from home. My mother and her friend (who is from Thailand) used to bring me here all the time. I pretty much always got the beef chilli paste medium and it’s awesome. You have to get spring rolls too. Fried or fresh, they are amazing. The peanut sauce is great. The buildign looks run down, but they can cook! As I got older, I learned to appriciate that it’s BYOB. Beware, it’s cash only! I have not been able to find thai food that I think comes close to this place! I miss it.
THE BEST!. This restaurant is everything you wanted in a restaurant and more. Bring your wine, bring your beer and get there RIGHT NOW. The cashew chicken is to die for. My friends from Chicago want the peanut sauce for Christmas next year. Fried rice is amazing. Pie = heaven on a plate. I honestly can’t remember what the service is like because the restaurant is so amazing. Don’t walk in and see the place and leave. I promise, it’s worth your while. And then try the sticky rice. And the famous pie. Please, you’ll do yourself a favor by eating at this restaurant.
For a Tuesday night it was packed and service was awful. We saw our waiter when we ordered and for our check. We had the pad Thai and the beef chili paste and they were both one note. Pad Thai was far too sweet and the beef chili paste was dry. We don’t plan on going back
Awesome. We have been going here for over 20 years! My whole family – all six of us – love it! Great spice, food portions, fresh vegetables. Just downright yummy!
