You cannot go wrong with the food at Portillos. Although inside and the drive through are often crowded, the lines move very quickly. The dcor is truly Chicagoish! All of the food is great although my normal order is the beef and cheddar croissant with sweet peppers and an order of onion rings.We had been going to the Portillos on Ontario until the one on Taylor in the South Loop opened. That one is closer to home.

Have you had their martinis? If you haven’t they are 1. Delicious and 2. CHEAP! This is a neighborhood bar that’s been there for longer than some of the other thing around it, so you know it’s legit. They have decent bar food, great cocktails and it’s conveniently located in the heart of the Wicker Park/Bucktown scene at Damen, North and Milwaukee.
