Hubs and I experienced Portillo’s as part of a walking Food Tour of the iconic foods. We each had a Chicago Style hot dog (dragged through the garden). It’s a really cool place and would be fun to revisit just to check out the vibe. What little we saw was pretty fun, and very energetic. The dog is a little messy- just my style-but not so much for the Hubs. We did enjoy ourselves, even though we would probably get something else than the hot dog.

I was suckered in by what looked like a great Lunch Special. Almost an hour and a half later, I got a teeny tiny egg roll, some watery soup and a skimpy portion of noodles. Save your money for cheap Chinese guys at least you will have leftovers. Maybe my Dine In experience would have been better, but I am not keen to find out any time soon!

Bad Service, Meh Food. I was very excited to try this cute bistro that’s close to my workplace. Didn’t work out. The staff forgot my order, resulting in a wait of two hours total while I waited for it to come, told the staff, waited for the staff to check, then waited for them to actually cook it (at 2 p.m. on a weekday, when they weren’t busy – there was only one other table seated, and I was alone). They comped my tea – small consolation, since it wasn’t that expensive – and never offered an apology. The food, when it came, was only decent – not worth the wait or going back. No stars.

Awesome. Night 2 of our 3 night Chicago party weekend found us at Thalia Spice with our group of 10. What an incredible dining experience. We mostly ordered appetizers and shared between the group. Highlights were the amazing scallops on avocado-mango-tomato salsa, the ceviche, dim sum platter, mussels in coconut curry broth and of course all of the different curry dishes we tried. A great and relatively inexpensive place to dine, quiet enough to have conversations with attentive servers. We’re going back here the next time we come to Chicago.

Nice place, well priced. Nice decor with a very eclectic Asian menu. They have a nice selection of relatively low cost appetizers so a tapas style tasting is a great option. We did a bunch of appetizers, all of which were quite good, and some yaya noodles and the spicy fish. Everything was very tasty. The service was a little unusual. First we ordered a couple of drinks – my wife got hers and after waiting quite a while (thinking maybe she hadn’t heard me) I asked and was told the bartender had gone outside and my drink would be a while. Odd, but I eventually got it. We were also double teamed by two waitresses who kept asking the same questions as the other, so we had to do everything twice. My only other comment was that the A/C wasn’t working particularly well – was a bit toasty as we walked there and were looking forward to some cool.Other than that a nice dining experience. Will definitely goback.

Best fish in the city! It’s amazing! The seating outside in the summer is also really nice!

This resturaunt is amazing! The atmosphere is very urban trendy, while still maintaining a down to earth feel. The house sushi roll is to for for… the perfect blend of savory and spicy filled me up at a reasonable price for sushi. The spicy drunken noodles were the same. The price was fair and the service was good. A must eat!
