Fried Everything. This place is a heartattack waiting to happen. Place reeks of deep fried oil. Hard to find anything on the menu that isn’t deep fried. When the food arrived it was hot but dripping of frying oil. No wonder everything in there seems coated. Taco Salad was good, huge portion. Won’t return, atmosphere is below tavern style, more like essence of back alley dumpster bar.
Comfort Food. The Town Tavern has good fish, and just general comfort food, like meat and potatoes. There is a bar at the rear, but the front is a family restaurant. I’ve been with my 4 kids and they were definitely family friendly.

Friendly staff always wanting to help & you can usually fin the owner wandering around offering you some pie (ask him about the cubs if you are into baseball) Just good down home cooking. An auburn institution.
