I’m amazed to come on here and see the words authentic Mexican!Very much a tex mex type place. Which I don’t like… So I don’t like this place. Taco salad is decent. Reminds me of hacienda. Good place to go for margaritas, not so much for food. Chips and salsa are good. For more authentic (better in my opinion), go to Santiago’s or the new place on the west side of 49 in Chesterton, or el bracero and azteca (Mexican grocery store that serves food) in Michigan city.
Never Again. Ordered a quesadilla. Received a taco and an excuse.Gave waitress $ 10 for a $ 6 check.NEVER RECEIVED THE CHANGE.El Salto is a place for drinkers – not diners.

Had a great time!. Met a few friends here to plan our vacation and we had such a good time. The drinks were excellent, especially the Margaritas. We ordered several of the appetizers to share and each one was delicious. The atmosphere was lively and we had a cheerful waitress that checked on us often.
Best Margaritas. I enjoy the Margaritas as they are perfect, not too strong and never watered down. I have to say the chips are very fresh and the salsa is perfect( I am a salsa snob). Nice place to unwind after a long day.
Best mexican food we’ve found in NWI! The chips are fresh, the salsa tasty and anything on a skillet is deeelish. Foods a bit on the salty side.
Picky. This is our favorite local Mexican restaurant. We have been coming here for years. The prices are good and the food is great.
