The egg rolls are very good. Do not order the Garlic Sauce it is very sweet and has to much ginger in it. I could not even taste garlic. The vegetables were shredded and over cooked. I also thought the shrimp was very small. The food has used to be really good and don’t bother calling and complaining because the customer service is bad too.
Good food / bad service. The owner or the man who takes your money at the end is not a native of USA, so he is very abrasive. However the food does’nt normally suffer this fate as is pretty uniformly good,somewhat pricey though. pretty clean dining room though and waitress is pretty attentive. If you can overlook owner’s abrasive existance.
Rude & Argumentative owner. Stay away if you want good service and a comfortable atmosphere. The owner should stay locked up in his kitchen and turnover customer facing duties to someone. Problem is, there does not appear to be anyone at this awful establishment who fits that bill. Stay away and do yourself a favor.
Perennial Favorite. This is my family’s favorite dining spot in Chesterton, and it’s our favorite Chinese food in Northern Indiana. The dining room is clean and pleasant, service has always been prompt, and the food is very good and reasonable.

Best Chinese food in Chesterton!. My husband and I ordered Tao Chen’s tonight for the first time and loved it! Great food all round! We ordered their egg rolls, egg drop soup, chicken fried rice, and cashew chicken + broccoli and it was delicious. A month ago we ordered Happy Wok and were very disappointed. We are happy to have found a local Chinese restaurant we enjoy. Tao Chen’s you have new loyal customers! Thank you!
This place is extremely yummy. Good prices, great service, and the owners strive to make customers happy. You can Pick and choose what vegetables and sauces you want without a problem.m. Take out is fast too! Great food.
