Quality is a thing of the past. We were regulars at the Griffith location, loving the food and the atmosphere. When that was no longer an option, we began going to the Dyer location. The food at that time was rich, good, home-cooked and portions were hearty.Went there most recently a couple of months ago. Apparently there has been a change in cooks, as the minestrone is nowhere near the rich blend of flavor it used to be. Portions are smaller; my salad – which I always order because I love their homemade creamy garlic dressing – was browning at the edges and very skimpy on the amount of salad served. We decided to order a pizza, and waited almost an hour for it. When it was served, the crust was so overbaked and hard that biting into it was a challenge, to say the least.I long for John’s as it used to be and have to say that they’ve seen the last of me.
Good Italian. I used to be a regular at their old Griffith location. I finally got around to their new home and I was somewhat disappointed. The portions were about 2/3 of the old size, prices were about a 1/3 higher, but the quality was still there. I love their garlic toast and the sauces.
