This place does NOT serve Thai food. Our noodle dish was made with spaghetti noodles, and all food was totally bland, as if the sauces were mostly water or forgotten completely. Atmosphere is nice, but we were probably the only two in the restaurant for a reason. It was just totally horrible, I’m extremely disappointed. Have you been to Luckys donut? Have you attempted Thai cooking at home? I promise it’s WAY better.
Great little hidden gem in Elkhart. Lots of menu choices. Food had great flavor and nice spice. Would definitely return!

An oasis in the desert. Tried Bangkok after a week in Elkhart, experiencing nothing but fried, buttered, straight-from-the-freezer diner food. Ordered the Vegetable Rama, and got exactly what I needed. Had I been vegetarian, I would have been upset however, because I actually got Chicken Rama. I, however, was very pleased because I had not seen the Chicken version. Veggies were steamed to tender-crisp and chicken was cooked without being excessively dry. The peanut sauce is a calorie bomb, but since it’s served on the side I could decide how much to eat. Absolutely no other fat or seasonings were added; which was perfect for me! In fact, eating here made me so happy, we returned twice more in our second week in town. I did try the Shrimp Rama, and wouldn’t recommend it. The sauce just didn’t pair well. Hubby said his curries were very good (forget which ones), but could tell that the ingredients were cooked separately and tossed together at the end. My only suggestion for improvement, aside from being sure people get what they order (Vegetable=Chicken?), is that the peanut sauce should be made in smaller batches, more regularly. I think it was fresh the first time, but microwaved the second and third time. No biggie for me, but it broke, causing the oil to separate out. If I didn’t already know it was fantasic, it would have been offputting to see my sauce floating in oil when I intentionally ordered such a healthy dish. Looking forward to another visit in a few months and really, really hope this quiet little place makes it!
Great food, great menu, great prices,great family run restaurant. Open your minds, Elkhart, and try something new!
Simple but Decent. Having recently moved to Elkhart from Chicago, I was desperate to find good asian food. When I found out about Bangkok Place Thai, I was elated. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the owner was very friendly…but my food was somewhat bland and simple. My red curry lunch special was light on the actual curry and very heavy on peas, it is definitely a step down from what I was used to in Chicago. Given the other choices (some donut shop, and a suspect looking chinese place) I will definitely return to Bangkok Place if I need a fix close to home.
