This place is an assett to a place like Elkhart! When I go to Chicago I brag about the pizza I get at Colombos. If you have not been here you truly are missing out. The staff is helpful and genuine and to heck with needing a makeover, that place shows their roots. Old family photos, news paper clippings, awards won over the years, and even window dressings that were probably hand made by a family member for the restaurants opening. I LOVE COLOMBOS! Good food, good local history, good people, good time!

Not use to mistakes. I ordered 2 calzones tonight then drove 30 minutes to pick up the order. My mistake was not checking the order before I left. There were several people in-line and I don’t like holding others up. Well needless to say, my order was wrong. They made 2 pizzas instead. When I called they old me they showed the order as 2 pizzas, an honest mistake I agree, but they would not offer a correction to the mistake. Basically flat out refused to correct the order at a later date. I have no problem putting the pizza in the refrigerator and taking it with me when I go to get the correct items at a later date. I did get quite upset at the lack of service and did use vulgar language on the phone. At that point hey choose to ban me from ordering in the future but were willing to refund my money if I drove 30 minutes to get it. I would think the profit margin would have covered the correction, especially with future orders on the line, but hey it’s their business to do with as they please. They do have great food, but the lack of service in my opinion matters more.

The best.. We eat pizza and lasagna all over the country and Colombo’s is the best. No other sauce begins to compare to theirs and their pizza has been our addiction since they opened. They make you feel welcome and like one of their family. They really care and appreciate their customers. I have tried to find lasagna as good as theirs many times and I have yet to find it.

Needs a Makeover. Don’t think I would go to Colombo’s again. It is badly in need of a makeover. The room and the menu are way outdated with large portions of mediocre food. My salad didn’t even have a tomatoe wedge on it. It was head lettuce and some shredded carrots on a plate. The rolls were hard and we were given one each. The lasagna was huge, doughy and felt like lead in your stomach. The tables and chairs are so close together the waitress kept bumping into my chair.

Excellent. The dining room is small and they can’t fit very many people, but they make up for this with the food. I had the sausage and pepper pasta and it was great. I want to return to try the pizza; that’s what everyone seemed to be ordering.

Like eating in someone’s home… I was in from out of town and I was dying to eat someplace that wasn’t a chain. We decided to eat here and was not disappointed. The salad was fresh, the rolls were huge and the pasta and sauce were great. It felt like you were in someone’s living room. At some point I think we were. It looks like an old house. It was busy, but the staff did a good job at making sure we were attended to. Would like to try this place again and have thier pizza.

Great food, reasonable price, fantastic atmosphere! I shared a large pizza, which was larger than I expected, but still enjoyed as left-overs later that evening. Colombo’s was suggested to me, and I advise anyone visiting the South Bend/Elkhart area to stop in.
