Horrible experience with manager. She came over to our table yelling and threw our check at us because we questioned a charge on our check! This was the worst experience that I’ve ever had at a restaurant EVER!!!! I will never eat there again!
Great food!. My husband and I went for a date with our 2 month old. They do not have booths but were more than willing to accommodate our little guy, offering us a highchair we could put upside down. His car seat ended up fitting fine on a chair. We weren’t sure if they served alcohol, there wasn’t any on the menu and no separate drink menu, but they do offer beer and a variety of saki. They likely have other options but that’s what we ordered. We tried the gyozi and a beef appetizer (it’s picture is on the menu) and were impressed. They were both delicious. We had four different rolls as well and they were all fantastic. It is wonderful to be able to stay in Elkhart and get great sushi. Sidenote: a family sat next to us and ended up leaving because there isn’t a kid’s menu. This is a Japanese restaurant with excellent Japanese food. Maybe the hibachi side would offer more neutral options but patrons should expect Japanese food. 🙂

Finally a place for a Sushi/Japanese food in Elkhart Indiana for Lunch and Dinner (5 out of 5 rating). I went to Sakura on opening day with a friend and we are already planning to visit it again later this week. From walking into the door you can tell that this is a quality restaurant. The atmosphere is casual/formal perfect for a date or a business lunch/dinner, and the artwork and layout is roomy and inviting. When you enter there are 2 choices either the Hibachi Menu or Sushi bar/Japanese menu. The hibachi price is fair for the service you get, about 15-40 dollars based on what you order. They give you the full show with a professional chef right in front of you definitely a family event and one to experience. I was eyeing the show from the Sushi bar (was not hungry enough for Hibachi but definitely going in the future). (You can also order from the sushi/Japanese menu when seeing the hibachi show)The sushi bar/Japanese menu is full of options from 5 dollar veggie rolls to 75 dollar sushi love boats. I counted more than 30 different sushi rolls available not including the weekly specials. Not a fan of sushi? Don’t worry they have you covered. Sakura has a full Japanese menu filled with dishes ranging from Teriaki Chicken to Yaki Udon. The dishes range from 10-30 dollars for dinner. They also have lunch specials and Bento boxes for lunch that range from 10-15 dollars. I cant wait to get my bento lunch on. (They do take out or dine in)While we were there I experienced the Tofu Teriyaki and it was to die for. The dish was to perfection and full of flavor. A very large portion definitely have leftovers for a late night snack (Might be opening day portions lol). My friend tried the sushi and had the house special. He’s not a huge fish fan, Avoids it like the plague. The only reason he got the sushi was because of a bet I made with him. He told me if you don’t like the fishy taste like he does don’t worry close your eyes and give it a try its like eating a moist and tender steak. He did not even have a hint of the fishy taste or smell and ordered another round of the house special sushi. (It had white tuna, salmon, avocado, white rice, rolled in seaweed with a crunchy tempera topping) The service was good for the first day (they were getting used to the systems and menu), took about 40 min for myself and my friend for dinner. My bill was 15+ tip for the tofu and his was 18+ tip for the sushi. We are definitely going again would recommend to anyone for good food and fun. 5/5 a must stop place if you are in the Elkhart area.
