I’ll dedicate this for out of town folks visiting the area who want to try a local place. This is probably the most iconic restaurant/bar in Evansville. There’s some historical aspects to it as well. Check their website. Their menu has a variety of choices from chicken to steak to fried brain sandwiches, a local favorite. I tried it once, after a few drinks, was pretty good. It just goes to prove the fact that anything deep fried is delicious. I mean; think of deep fried squid okay, excuse me, Calamari. I’ll stop rambling. The prices are very reasonable. So even if you are over in one of the east side hotels, it’s a quick easy trip and definitely worth your time.
The manliest restaurant in America is more known for its brain sandwiches than its tenderloin sandwich, but for a Texas Style tenderloin, this is the best. They do a great job of making sure to keep it from drying out, and you get it with a side of burgoo and german fries. Best tenderloin in Evansville.
West Sider. I have loved the Hilltop for many years so was VERY disappointed in my visit there today. I have moved so havent been there for a couple of years though I used to be a regular for the Wed Fried Chicken lunch plate with dumplings on the side. Back in town today and upset to find all had changed. The chicken appears to be cooked different, not nearly as crisp and was greasy. The dumplings were so salty I couldn’t eat them and I love salt! My friend had the dressing and it was just box stuffing, tasted like Stove Top to me. Very sad.
Food and service sucks, over priced crap. Better food at fast food!
Place smells like a sewer and the food is bland. Nothing has any flavor.

OH MY!!!. Just recently was I invited to lunch here, had been a long time but never disappointed, tea was great but OH MY the chicken livers, just wanted to eat and not even talk ha ha hot and fresh from the kitchen, big portions, brought half home with me…A+ Highly recommend!!
