I don’t know why anyone would give this place a bad review! Every time I have been there, it is delicious. Also, the school I work at has it catered in on occasion and we love those days! What a treat! I would encourage anyone who gave a bad review to try it again! And by the way, it sure it fun to sit by the fireplace in the winter!
I don’t know why the reviews on breadsticks because ours were served hot and the pesto dipping was also good! It’s true that the House salad is excellent! We ordered the Stromboli and it was fantastic and so big we could only eat half! Definitely one of the northside’s hidden treasures.
I really enjoy dining at Little Italy. My go to dish is the crab cakes served over creamy pesto capellini. My daughter usually gets the chicken parmesan with fettuccine alfredo. Their chicken parmesan is grilled instead of fried. My husband is the adventurous one. He has had the Italian salad, pizza and lasagna and enjoyed them all. We really like the fried calamari appetizer. They always come out piping hot and crispy. They are generous with their bread sticks, which are soft and really good. Little Italy now has their liquor license so you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are reasonable.
To Gary, its mediterranean not italian u idiot.04 Nov, 2014Calamari and Gyros…soooo good. I order it everytime I go.
Bland tasteless food. Gyro and calamari were ordered, also free breadsticks were providedbread was totally devoid of any flavor, just a dry cardboard thingcheap olive oil dip for the bread was provided, no flavor, I had to douse it in pepper and saltcalamari, half the plate was covered in parmesan, no flavor and they were overcooked. They were not cooked with any scallions/garlic/ect. Just some frozen ones dropped in a deep fryer. No flavor to the breading. The Gryro, the meat was okay and there was a lot of fresh veggies in the gyro. It was not greatly appealing, just okay. It came with a side of french fries that were mediocre.Overcall it was edible but not worth spending money on.
Never disappointed , we have dined here numerous time since it’s opening and has turned out to be a favorite. Great service and the food is wonderful.
A New Option For North Park. Finding ourselves on the north side of town at suppertime recently gave us an excellent opportunity to check out Little Italy. We arrived shortly after 5:00pm on and were convenient table, provided with menus, and had our drink order taken. The hostess and our server were both very knowledgeable about the various dishes, and made some excellent suggestions for appetizers and entrees. We decided to start off with an order of the Cheese Ravioli Fritti, followed by a House Salad. For his entre, Hubby opted for the Pasta-D-Italia the option to choose your own pasta accompanied by your choice of sauce, while I chose the Rigatoni Carbonara. Both entrees came with a basket of homemade bread sticks and a pesto basil/olive oil dipping sauce. While waiting for our appetizer, we were served the bread sticks with the pesto basil dipping sauce. While the bread sticks were fresh, they could have been improved had they been served warm. The basil pesto dipping sauce was bland, and needed seasoning. The appetizer arrived piping hot, and with eight pieces, was a perfect size for sharing. There was a generous portion of marinara sauce for dipping. The commercially-prepared raviolis were lightly breaded and fried to a crisp, while the interior was filled with a decent amount of melted cheese. The marinara sauce was fresh, with a bright tomato tasteThe House Salads were huge, and included a more than generous portion of crisp greens, along with chopped tomatoes, red onions, black olives, pepperoncinis, and parmesan cheese, with Italian dressing served on the side. Hubbys Spaghetti with Meat Sauce was a more than ample serving. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and well drained…no soupy spaghetti water in the bottom of the bowl. The sauce had a nice meaty flavor, and a good texture. Hubby wanted more garlic in the sauce, but deemed it acceptableMy Rigatoni Carbonara consisted of a liberal serving of pasta, along with mushrooms, onions, and bacon, all blended with a creamy sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. It was hot, creamy, and delicious.Service was prompt and courteous, and our waitress was friendly without being intrusive. Our beverages were kept filled, and anything we needed was supplied almost before we asked for it. The portions were ample enough to take home leftovers for the next day. We enjoyed our visit to Little Italy, and would visit again if we happened to be in the area. The restaurant does provide a much needed option to the North Park area.
