Lackluster at best. Not sure what all the fuss is about.. We went to Madeleine’s for our anniversary last night. We were SEVERELY disappointed. The food was edible, but not good enough to clean our plates or ask for a box to take home. The asparagus soup tasted like green-colored liquid smoke. We learned our lesson from the appetizer and meal and did not bother with dessert. The service was minimal at best. Our waitress and the other staff that interacted with us were not warm, welcoming or pleasant and certainly did not talk to us about the menu. I ordered the stuffed trout and the menu didn’t bother to tell me that it came with potatoes and spinach and the waitress didn’t bother to tell me either. And to finish off the night they brought us an ipad to put the tip on while the waitress hovered over us. That is just uncomfortable and rude. She got a bigger tip than we would like to have given because my husband was trying to quickly figure out the system and felt like he was being stared at the whole time. It is over-priced and overall a HUGE WASTE of money. Maybe if the chef hadn’t been siting at the bar watching tv, he could have been thinking about cooking stuff that tastes good.

Chef Always changes menu to use freshest & in season food. The atmosphere is upscale casual, quiet for great conversation. Excellent wine selection for Evansville. Love to eat here
Every time my family comes to town Madeleine’s is our first pick. Always have had good food and great experience. Recommend Madeleine’s to everyone who I looking for good food or even for a special night out

I have always enjoyed my experience there. The last time I went with my friend who was a vegetarian and the chef made a dish specifically for her that was absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend it!
Never a Bad experience. Yes, it’s expensive for Evansville, but we have never had a bad meal there.The service has always been outstanding as well.I like the fact that there is always some fresh fish option on the menu. The lobster mac and cheese is outstanding.
