Mixed. The food was delicious — one member of our party said it was the best sushi in Evansville — and the service was excellent. But, another member of our party got stomach cramps within two hours of dining there. The additional downsides are the prices — too pricey for what you get and on plastic dinnerware and without much of anything in the way of atmospherics or decoration — and the lack of properly dressed customers considering the high prices. It’s best, we thought, to get a private table rather than sit around an hibachi table because then you are not seated immediately next to others who might well ruin your dining experience with their appearance, behavior, language, or all three. If management wants to maintain current price levels, they would be wise to implement a dress code — the better restaurants do so and it need not be at the level of coat and tie. Porcelain dinnerware would be a welcome improvement too.

Great sushi, service so-so. Sushi was wonderful and waitstaff was attentive, up until we went to pay our bill. Server mentioned buy one get one half off on appetizers so we ordered two appetizers, received the bill and it was not correct, she went to correct the bill and still brought back the same bill after having run our credit card. Offered drink refill but never got it. Would love to return for the food but the service needs to be upgraded. Spent over $80 for 2 people dining and the food was well worth it but the service was still lacking.

Sushi good, Hibachi table most disappointing. Just to keep it short—sushi some of the best.Habachi table worst I’ve been to. The chef was slopping, slinging food onto the plates, getting it all over table. worried it was going to splatter on my clothes. Food items served one at a time, had to eat everything by itself. Food had little if any flavor and some of it overcooked. Very poor presentation. Chef wrongly served one of the guest shrimp that he didn’t order. Gusest had already started eating when cook discovered mistake. He embarrassed the guest and made a comment that he should leave a larger tip. Would not desire to go to the Hibachi table again.

Mediocre, not my favorite for sushi or hibachi. Roppongi was not bad but not great either. First, I had expected the interior of the restaurant to be a lot nicer judging from the exterior. In terms of atmosphere, Roppongi was fine but if you sat in a booth, the tables and booths were kind of cheap looking while Nagasaki really has a nice decor with the pond and bridges and fish tanks. I ordered the bento box for $24 and my husband ordered the chicken bolgogi. They first brought out salads and soup. Both were fine, but I much prefer Nagasaki’s salad dressing and soup. Then they brought a spicy tuna hand roll that came with my bento. That was probably the highlight for me. I’d never had a hand roll, and I enjoyed the spiciness. The bento came with tempura shrimp and vegetables (sweet potato and potato) and that was pretty good. The california roll was not bad but just meh. I would say the hibachi vegetables, shrimp and beef were a little on the cool temperature side – not bad, but the beef was kind of odd. It was like they had cut a cross section through a rib, rather than serve it length-wise, so you were getting a small bone with meat around it. My husband’s chicken bolgogi was one of the menu recommended items, but it was pretty disappointing. The pieces of chicken had a really odd texture – almost looked like chicken livers to me. The sauce on the chicken and noodles was ok, but far from a favorite, and neither of us would have listed this entree as a signature dish to the restaurant. So overall it was not a bad experience – the service was good, but if I want hibachi I won’t come back again but will go to Nagasaki or even Zuki.

What I ordered was a joke. The calamari tasted like freezer burned newspaper. The scallops were so dry that I damn near suffocated when trying to chew them. NEVER coming back

Love the sushi. The service is hit or miss, but the food is always good…especially the sushi

Not impressed. It was a Friday night and maybe 5 tables. The table food was dry (chicken and rice). Definitely not worth $60. Take out somewhere else would have been better an cheaper. It has really gone down in quality.
