Stay Away. I don’t know what was wrong the day that I went, but the service was horrendous. It took 15 minutes to get someone to pay attention to me… I guess it was tough with 3 tables being full at 7am… I got a lukewarm cup of coffee for my troubles. 40 minutes later, when my order came out, I was treated to a slice of hashbrowns cooked on one side in rancid grill butter, and fresh from a can corned beef hash. I saw him grilling some omelettes, as I waited for 5 minutes to get someone to pay attention long enough at the counter to ring me up, that I may have come back for in other circumstances, but now. Let this place shrivel up and blow away, like a locust in the fall.
Don’t be turned off by the exterior. I was reluctant to eat here because the outside looks kinda grungy. BUT- the food, staff, and other guests are great. Don’t be in a rush, because they are packed for weekend breakfasts. Its worth the wait. The portions are generous. You can tell everything is made in house and its home style done well. Country fried steak is delicious! And everytime we go in, we end up having a conversation with the table next to us because everyone is so friendly. Its such a great atmosphere 🙂
Rolls and strawberry butter are worth the price of admission! Never had a bad meal!
Recommended bt sister and niece who are locals. As a visitor from Texas I like to tey locally owned restaurants, not chains. High marks for dumplings, corn bread, mac & cheese and coconut creme pie. Loved this place and will return when in the area. Recommend to others.
This place is a good old diner. Had breakfast there, and it was fantastic. I got a egg white veggie skillet. I get it because it is fairly healthy. They made it so yummy even my hubby liked it. Maybe it was the zucchini or tomatoes? Either way, good coffee, good fast service, good breakfast, probably our new favorite in Evansville
Great Omelet!
Diner/Dive Perfection. If you are a lover of hidden treasures than this is the place for you. I got the Country Fried Steak and it was so delicious I was still thinking about it after I left. They have a good variety of meals and specials everyday. I didn’t get a chance to try one of their many homemade pies, but will make a point to return just to get a piece. This is a perfect midwest diner style restaurant.
